Passing on the Love of Community & Raising the Next Generation in Ladera Ranch
- Aprl 5, 2024

Volunteering Together
Lending a helping hand teaches youth empathy and citizenship from an early age. Look to volunteer with local food banks, habitat cleanups with the Sierra Club, or package care going overseas for troops. Families are also always welcome to volunteer together as our local charities, such as Helping Others Property Enterprise, encourage interfamily charity work.
Introduce your neighbors as neighbors by hosting block parties or Thanksgiving dinner exchange programs. Participate in neighborhood fundraisers whether it’s walking for cures or car washes raising money for school programs. Give children ownership in meaningful causes.
Outdoor Exploration
Appreciation for open spaces and wildlife begins young. Take part in the Ladera Hiking Club exploring local trails as a family, teaching nature identification. Volunteer through OC Parks on habitat projects that your little conservationists will remember for a lifetime.
Establish a family community garden plot, tending to vegetables and flowers together. Teach respect for shared amenities like trails, parks, and golf courses by teaching lessons that instill community stewardship responsibility.

School & Extracurricular Involvement
Outside of the classroom, being involved in Parent Teacher Associations, volunteering for field trips, or helping in libraries increases school spirit. Cheering together at sporting events and performances increases school connections and involvement.
Registration of children in classes or clubs such as scouts, coding camps, or music enrichment also strengthens relationships with neighbors and mentors in their worlds. Building a network of friends right in town facilitates comfort and belonging for all.
Handing down the legacy of community love at Ladera Ranch starts with teaching future generations its invaluable worth through experiences and service together!
